OPS Composite Solutions climate target is to reduce our CO2 emissions by 42% starting from 2021 to 2030.
What is SBTi?
SBTi stands for Science Based Targets initiative and is an initiative that was founded in 2015 by, among others, the UN Global Compact, WWF, CDP and the World Resources Institute. SBTi are science-based climate targets that are in line with the Paris Agreement. To achieve the Paris Agreement's 1.5°C target, global greenhouse gas emissions must be halved by 2030, and down to zero/net zero by 2050. SBTi defines how much a company/industry must cut greenhouse gas emissions to be in line with the Paris Agreement, through a short-term target and a long-term target.
Binding targets are set for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The targets are set in line with the latest climate science and the UN climate goals. The targets have been approved, and OPS Composite Solutions AS will report progress and target achievement for its own emissions.
Our company commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2021 base year, and to measure and reduce its scope 3 emissions.

Based on historical data, we have established a baseline for our own emissions, which forms the basis for the greenhouse gas reductions we set. Work on SBTi started in June 2025 and binding targets will be set and communicated during August 2025. We have already identified significant potential for improvement in our operations and have, among other things, received external help to monitor electronic energy management systems. In this way, we ensure the use of more green energy, while at the same time managing energy consumption more intelligently and providing major environmental and financial savings.
Through our involvement in SBTi, we hope to motivate more industry players to commit to cutting their own greenhouse gas emissions. In a survey by SBTi, over 300 companies with approved science-based climate targets reported cutting emissions by 25 percent, while global emissions increased by 4 percent over the same period. Against this backdrop and with greater engagement from the industry, we will further highlight our corporate responsibility to contribute to reducing global warming.
Our short-term targets for reducing CO2 emissions are endorsed by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), including the Business Ambition for 1.5°C.
